More mysterious track makers appeared today.....an entire flock of wild turkeys! How amazing to watch them so close to the house! I guess we've created the right environment for all these creatures to hang out together with us. It's a pretty amazing sight. All kinds of birds continue to enjoy the squirrel proof feeder and the deer are everywhere. It's a wild life extravaganza! Working from home is such a great thing.

Well three little track makers came to see me today ... a whole family of little deer. Here's a shot of a few of them munching down on what's left of the feed block. Hopefully they are leaving their deer ticks elsewhere! And they better stay away from my tulips....if any actually come up among the rubble that is. I am surprised to see them this close to the house and road in the bright daylight.

Oh my gosh. A huge day in American history. I am filled with the inspiration of it all. I came across this link today and it so captures why I am excited. We are the change. We will all be part of the solution to getting America strong again. How thrilling that Barack Obama and his team could reach so deeply into our souls to make this day feel like our day. Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon says/sings it best....be inspired! Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon's "Song For Change"

It really works! The Will Bill's Bird Feeder David put up keeps squirrels away and birds are flocking to it. Look at everybody sharing the ports and waiting in the bushes or on the ground for their turn. We have bluejays and cardinals and finches and chickadees and downy woodpeckers and flickers and doves probably so many more! It went up when we weren't here to watch the squirrels trying it early on but we occasionally see one trying again - they get a small shock from a battery that "electrifies" the top and bottom plates. It doesn't bother the birds at all but any sort of critter will get a shock. So they try and then leap off!
I am also wishing I could have seen all the wildlife that made all these wonderful tracks in the snow last night. I did catch a doe munching on the feed block David put down but apparently she called in the crowd overnight.
