The guys are back today even though it's threatening rain. So far so good ...

Let the Deck begin!

The front entrance is almost done now - they'll be coming back to do the new mahogany front door and bluestone threshold. Today the big machines are here digging the foundation holes for the deck. I'm so glad we'll be able to enjoy that this spring and summer. As the weather gets nicer we're dying to hang outside. Although it is almost like being outside in our great room with it's wall of giant windows.....

Front Entrance coming to life

Ok, these guys are fast! I am so excited to have a front entrance that will be worthy of the rest of the renovation. Jim has suggested slate for an accent on the front to match the stone steps. The columns will be white to match the trim on the rest of the house. And I've asked for the new mahogany door to be stained a deep dark brown. Can't wait to see it all come to life!

Renovation 2009

We have finally revived the renovation work and have the guys back (well - new guys) to finish up the front stoop, guest suite wall where they had to cut through for plumbing and replacing the brass hinges all over the house with black ones. After they finish up the stoop, they will start on the deck! Just in time for spring/summer entertaining.

Speaking of entertaining - my sisters and some of the kids came to visit last weekend. That baby Lucy is too cute!
